The CRM (Customer Relationship Management) module provides a centralized system for managing your business relationships with customers, vendors, and companies that serve in both capacities. This comprehensive tool allows you to track contacts, manage addresses, monitor transactions, and store custom business data for all your external business relationships.


Getting Started

What is the CRM Module?

The CRM module is your central hub for managing all external business relationships. It provides a unified interface for:

  • Customer Management - Track sales relationships, orders, and invoices

  • Vendor Management - Manage supplier relationships and purchase orders

  • Contact Information - Store multiple contacts per company

  • Address Books - Maintain multiple shipping and billing addresses

  • Transaction History - View all sales orders, invoices, and purchase orders

  • Custom Data - Store company-specific information relevant to your business

Accessing Companies

Navigate to Business Setup > Companies to view your companies list. This centralized location displays all your customers, vendors, and dual-purpose companies.

From the Companies interface, you can:

  • Create New Company - Add a customer, vendor, or both

  • Search Companies - Find companies quickly by name or attributes

  • Filter by Type - View only customers, only vendors, or both

  • Access Company Records - Click any company to view detailed information\


Understanding Company Types

Company Types Explained

Companies in the system can be classified as:

Customer Only - Companies that purchase from you

  • Track sales orders and invoices

  • Manage customer contacts

  • Store shipping addresses

  • Monitor customer-specific notes

Vendor Only - Companies you purchase from

  • Track purchase orders

  • View purchased products

  • Manage vendor contacts

  • Store vendor notes

When to Use Each Type

Customer:

  • Companies that buy your products or services

  • Distributors and resellers

  • End-user clients

  • Any entity that receives invoices from you

Vendor:

  • Suppliers of raw materials

  • Component manufacturers

  • Service providers

  • Any entity you issue purchase orders to

Both:

  • Companies you have reciprocal trading relationships with

  • Partners who both supply materials and purchase finished goods

  • Subcontractors who also purchase from you.


Creating a Company

Step-by-Step Company Creation

Navigate to Business Setup > Companies

Click the New or + button

Enter basic company information:

  • Company Name (required)

  • Company Type (Customer or Vendor)
