Creating a New Notification

In the Global Events tab, click the blue + New Notification Configuration button. You will be prompted to choose between two notification types:

1. Global Events

Use this option to monitor system-wide actions based on specific event codes.

  • How it works: Choose an event code (e.g., 0203 Session Ended).

  • Result: Whenever that specific action occurs anywhere in the system, the designated users will be notified.

2. Watch Entity

Use this option to track changes to a specific record or item.

  • How it works: Select an Entity Type (e.g., Company) and then select the Specific Entity (e.g., McMaster-Carr).

  • Result: You will only receive updates when changes are made to that specific record.

Configuring Delivery Methods

Once you have selected your event or entity, you must assign users and choose how they are reached:

  • Users: Select one or more users from the dropdown menu who should receive the alert.

  • In-App: Toggle this on to show a red badge and message in the StartProto navigation bell.

  • Email: Toggle this on to send an automated summary of the event to the user's registered email address.

Click Create in the top right corner to save your configuration and activate the alerts.
