Batch Processing (Run Size):

In batch processing, you run multiple identical parts simultaneously through a single operation. This is often achieved by using fixtures or pallets that can hold multiple parts at once.

Examples:

Example 1:

If you have a CNC machine with a fixture that holds 5 parts, you can complete 5 identical parts at a time per operation. This means that if you have 100 parts to produce, you would run the operation 20 times.

Example 2:

Imagine you have a tombstone fixture that can hold 8 parts on its four faces. You need to produce 80 identical components. By using the tombstone, you can complete 8 parts at a time per operation, requiring only 10 cycles to complete the entire job.

Example 3:

Imagine you own a 3D printing shop, and a customer has ordered 50 small identical components that each fit within a 2x2x2 inch cube. Your 3D printer has a build volume of 10x10x10 inches, allowing you to print multiple parts at once. You decide to arrange the parts in a grid within the build volume, fitting 25 parts in a single print run. By doing this, you can complete the entire order in just two print cycles, printing 25 parts at a time.
