A.) Overview

Provide your operators with a flexible tool that equips them with all the necessary information to perform their best work. This tool includes their schedule, job details, drawings, and more. By using “Operator Home,” operators can share valuable operational insights in realtime, creating a collaborative space that enhances your shop's efficiency.

1.) Operator Home Dashboard

The Dashboard provides your shopfloor with an overview of work to be completed or assigned to a particular Operator or work center. This page allows access to directly interact with operations, record sessions, and assign responsibilities.

1.1) Filters and Presets

Operators can create custom filters to focus on desired WorkCenters, Operations, and Groups, then save filters for future use with custom presets.

By default, operators will have the option to select presets to view work assigned to them or all work currently available. To create custom filters or presets:

  1. Create a new filter by selecting the filter button

  2. Select desired WorkCenters, Operations, Groups, Etc (Note: multiples are allowed)

  3. Click out of the filter window to confirm

  4. Optional: Save the filter for future use by selecting “Save Preset”

1.2) Work Cards Breakdown

Work Cards are a visualization of work to be performed by operator’s, they provide details pertaining to the operation performed, Item details. Order details and to what assembly an item belongs to. From this view, operators can easily start sessions, monitor progress, and record data.

  • Job Name: A familiar name set by the user to easily identify the job

  • Work Details: Displays the WorkGroup and operation performed for this scheduled job

  • Item Name: The name of the item/sub-item you are creating

  • Main Assembly: Either the name of the main assembly this sub-item belongs to or the item's name

  • Order Details: Showcases order information and due date

  • Status: Shows the live status of the job and amount completed

  • Background Color:

    • Grey: Currently Scheduled

    • Green: Active

    • Red: On Hold

2.) Starting A Session

From the Operation Homepage, Operators can start sessions, assign sessions to corresponding WorkCenters, and monitor Progross. By clicking “Start Session on the desired work, operators can configure, assign WorkCenters, and select output quantities.

2.1) Starting Session Breakdown

During the session setup process, operators can adjust work, assign output expectations, and assign WorkCenters based on their needs. Options include:

  • WorkCenters: Operators are required at this stage to assign a desired WorkCenter if one has not already been assigned. They are provided a selection of completable WorkCenters capable of completing the requested work. WorkCenters will apear in two states, “Available” And “In-Use”. This status will indicate if a WorkCenter is available for new work or is currently in use.

  • Estimated Times: Times displayed on this page are estimations provided during the routing/BOM creation process.

  • Output Parts: The selection of Output parts allows operators to select the desired ending quantity for the session; they can also adjust to meet different types of quotas:

    • Default: The amount set by the associated job

    • Sales Order: The demand of the associated sales order

    • Required: The demand from every sales order or Job requiring this make item

    • Possible: The ability to produce based on the availability of required input items

  • Materials: The required Input items for the current operation; this includes other Make Items, Buy Items, and the output from the previous operation.

3.) Summary

"Operator Home" is a flexible tool that provides operators with all the necessary information for efficient work. The dashboard offers an overview of assigned work and allows for direct interaction, recording sessions, and assigning responsibilities. Custom filters and presets can be created to focus on specific work centers, operations, and groups. Work cards provide details on the job, workgroup, item, assembly, order, and status. The session setup process allows for adjusting work, assigning output expectations, and selecting work centers.
